Hmmm, if you want to provide that example please create a merge request. The issue you've encountered is with the way CTypes returns from structures. It converts values to their corresponding python type. This is an issue here because the C++ code it's trying to model is a typed enumeration that uses a uin8_t for storage. So CTypes is converting that to a Python integer, instead of returning the enum type itself.
