Introduction and Interest in Contributing to Rocket.Chat as a GSoC 2026 Applicant

Hi everyone,

I’m Ashutosh Singh, a final-year engineering student interested in open-source development. I work with JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python, Flask, PostgreSQL, and C++, and I have a strong foundation in data structures.

I previously participated in GirlScript Summer of Code, which helped me understand how to contribute to large open-source projects. I’ve gone through the Rocket.Chat repository and really liked the project’s scale, code quality, and community-driven approach. A friend of mine has contributed here earlier, and hearing about their experience motivated me to explore this project further.

I’m excited to start contributing and learn from the community as a GSoC 2026 applicant.
